Studio Profile

Winter\Victor Studio is the graphic design practice of Don Whelan. Founded in 2018, the studio is focused on visual design for sport & retail. Drawing on Don’s nearly twenty years of professional experience producing work for a wide variety of clients at design firms and agencies from California to Massachusetts, the studio has a keen interest in helping mission-driven organizations create impactful experiences and results. The name Winter\Victor is a nod to the two branches of Don’s family legacy of artists.

In 2000 Don began his career designing wine labels at Auston Design Group in Napa, CA. Since then he has designed for non-profits, academic pursuits, and books while working at nationally-recognized studios in Falls Village, CT and Washington, DC. He also spent a number of years working with commercial clients in packaging, healthcare, industrial electronic components, banking, and commercial real estate in Newtown, CT and North Andover, MA.
He studied graphic design at California State University, Chico, graduating in 2000.
